Open from midday, serving lunches, on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Evening meals available from 6pm.

Make use of our high speed, free internet.

Ales, ciders and outstanding wines.

Local lagers, ales and ciders are available on tap. We have recently teamed up with Wye Valley Brewery as our lead brewer. We have their pale ale, Fandango, their stout, Nightjar and their lager, 1985 all available on draught. We also stock Gasping Goose; a local cider from Newton Court just south of Leominster. Guest ales are also available, different beers from our local producers The Ludlow Brewing Company Three Tuns, Hobsons and Wye Valley.

We are located in the heart of the beautiful Herefordshire countryside. A stones throne from many beautiful walks, including the gorgeous Fish Pool Valley, National Trust sites, and treasures like Ludlow Castle. The Yarpole circular walk can be started and finished at the Bell. Yarpole Bell Tower, next to St Leonard’s church, is one of the oldest timber frame structures in England. It was erected in 1187.

We are happy to welcome motorhomes and camper vans on our off-road car park behind the pub. We require stopover guests to use the pub in some capacity – with a recommended minimum spend of £20 for use of our facilities.

Facilities in the village include an award winning community Shop and Post Office. There is also a Gallery Café in the church. Both the Shop and the Gallery café are run by volunteers.

Support your Local. The British Beer and Pub Association calls for help to cut pub costs with 378 pubs in England, Scotland and Wales likely to call time this year.

Taken from the Guardian on 10th July. British pubs will close down at the rate of one a day this year, the industry’s trade body has warned, blaming high business taxes. At the same time, the hospitality sector has called on ministers to tackle “eye-watering” costs. The British Beer and Pub Association (BBPA), which represents more than 20,000 pubs in the UK, said it expects 378 to close this year in England, Scotland and Wales, at a cost of 5,600 jobs. This would mark an increase on last year’s 350 closures, continuing a long-term trend that has made more than 15,000 pubs call last orders once and for all since 2000.
