Our Story

A new chapter for a much-loved village inn

Beautifully restored and quietly grand, The Bell Inn is a 17th-century timber-framed country pub standing at the heart of Yarpole. Low beams, open fires and worn flagstones remain exactly as they should be — the character earned over four centuries, carefully kept.

Today the inn enters an exciting new chapter under experienced hospitality owners Michelle Coutts and Blaine Reed, whose approach is simple: generous, unhurried hospitality, cooking built on the produce of Herefordshire's farms and orchards, and a wine list chosen with real care.

Come for a long lunch in the garden, an evening meal by the fire, or simply a pint of local ale. Everyone is welcome, and nobody is rushed.

  • Exceptional hospitality
  • Relaxed dining
  • Produce from within ~30 miles
  • Carefully selected wines
  • Traditional character
  • A warm welcome
